Apple Amazon Google and Microsoft top the ranking

In its annual Global 500 report , the international consulting firm Brand Finance takes on the great challenge each year of identifying the most valuable brands in the world and placing them in a ranking based on their economic power. In the last publication, made at the beginning of this year, the entity selected the 100 companies that accumulate the most value, thus forming a list headed by the technological giants. Apple once again took first place, ahead of Amazon, Google and Microsoft, which completed the top 4.

TikTok the fastest growing brand

Although it does not enter the category email list top 10 (it ranks 18th), TikTok, the social media company platform, has experienced a 215% increase in its brand value this year. This has made it the fastest growing company on the entire list. Between 2019 and 2021, the platform saw its user base skyrocket, going from 291.4 million to 655.9 million in just two years. If this growth continues, TikTok could reach nearly 1 billion users by 2025 , according to Insider Intelligence projections .

These are the predominant sectors in Brand Finance's most valuable brands ranking

More than a third of the names on ER Lists Brand Finance’s list of valuable brands are from the technology and services sector. Collectively, this category has a brand value of $2 trillion. Media is the second most valuable sector: 19% of the top 100 brands are in the media and telecommunications sector, including Google, Facebook and WeChat. The pandemic has had a lot to do with this boom, as the consumption of media and platforms increased during the confinement stages throughout the entire planet. For example, in the first nine months of 2021, daily Snapchat usage grew by 77%.
